An example of an outsourced procurement project for the office print environment

SITUATION

A corporation wanted to improve its office print management processes for its key offices across the EMEA region. As part of this process they wanted to improve service through the addition of multifunctional printers and improve lead time for service and reduce overall cost.

INTERVENTION

Following an analysis of the market an RFP was sent out to two leading office print suppliers and the decision was taken to negotiate with them both. Negotiations were highly complex requiring a detailed assessment of the print environment in all the sites across the region, an analysis of the current assets on the books and a review of the total cost of the system including, equipment, servicing, and consumables.

RESULT

Following negotiations a recommendation was made to go ahead with one of the suppliers. This was one of the first times the company had been able to leverage its total business across the region and was able to make an average saving of 30% for all sites which amounted to $15million annualised saving.
